Leslie is the other half of the power couple behind Law Eventing, alongside his wife and fellow Ride iQ coach, Lesley Grant Law. World-renowned coach Leslie Law was born and raised in rural Herefordshire, England. He started riding at age 10, competing alongside his brother, and participated in his first event in 1982. Quickly climbing the ranks of the sport thanks to his riding talent, by 1989, Leslie took over the ride on Welton Apollo, and that same year was chosen for his first European Championships. After successfully stepping up to the CCI5* level in the late 1990s, Leslie claimed top 5 finishes at Badminton, Burghley, and Kentucky in 2002 and 2003. Continuing his success on the world stage, he went on to be a member of the British team that won silver at the 2000 Olympic Games and bronze at the 2002 World Equestrian Games. Leslie also won team gold at the European Championships on his well-known long-time partner Shear L'eau before capping off their illustrious partnership with an individual gold medal at the 2004 Olympic Games.
In 2006, Leslie moved to the USA and, together with his wife Lesley, established Law Eventing in Ocala, Florida. His legacy in eventing has extended far beyond the competition arena as Leslie has become known as a producer of top Young Riders and High Performance horses. He has served official roles with USEA and USEF as a Developing Rider and Emerging Athlete Coach and has conveyed riding knowledge and life skills to up-and-comers in the sport. Leslie has a passion for teaching, and his mission is not only to create world-class riders but also great horsepeople.
Leslie is known for his thorough, methodical, and calm way of teaching and coaching, which has made him a fantastic addition to our Ride iQ coach line-up!
