About us
Hello! we're Jessa and Kinsey Lux, sisters and co-founders of Ride iQ
We grew up in Minnesota with our brother Tyler (Jessa's twin) and lots of animals, but no horses. Pony Club was our introduction to riding, eventing, and some of our forever best friends.
As we got older, we spent our summers as working students at upper level farms in Virginia, where we were inspired to pursue our own upper level aspirations. We didn't have a coach in Minnesota to help us move up the levels, so a friend suggested we reach out to Kyle Carter, a Canadian Olympic event rider in Florida.
We took the advice and moved our horses, Fozzy and Ty, to Kyle and his wife Jen's farm in Ocala. Kinsey even transferred to online high school to live close to the farm. The Carters were our coaches and mentors throughout high school, and they coached us to the 2* level before we went on to college and careers without horses (more on that below).
In 2021, after almost 10 years and many life changes, the four of us reunited to start Ride iQ.
As co-founders of Ride iQ, we believe that everyone should have access to the best coaching in the world. We'd love to have you join us in pursuit of that dream, and we're so happy you're here!
The founding team
Kinsey loves mystery novels, complex spreadsheets, belly laughs, and her dog Otis. She graduated from New York University with a degree in finance and worked on a real estate trading desk at Blackstone for 5 years before starting Ride iQ.
Jessa loves big ideas, early mornings, improv comedy, and anything a la mode. After getting a degree in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the University or Wisconsin - Madison, she had a career in marketing and community building.
Kyle is a bamboo farmer, bee keeper, poker player, marathon runner, and devoted dad. Oh, and he was on the Canadian eventing team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Kyle also won a silver medal as a member of the Canadian team at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
Jen is an Alaska-native, environmentalist, cribbage champion, marathon runner, and loving mother. She has ridden at the Kentucky CCI5*-L and has coached students at the top level of the sport. Jen has also trained and bred very successful upper level horses.
