Lesley Grant Law
5* event rider • Has been short- and long-listed to the Canadian team numerous times with multiple horses
Lesley is a Canadian 5* event rider. She was the Rider Representative for the ’05 and ’06 Canadian Eventing High Performance Committee and is involved in the Athlete Development Program.
Lesley Grant Law is the other half of the power couple behind Law Eventing, alongside her husband and fellow Ride iQ coach, Leslie Law! Originally from Ontario, Canada, Lesley came from a completely non-horsey family. Still, after a family friend introduced her to riding, Leslie asked for riding lessons and started down a journey that would mold her entire life and career.
As a teen, she worked for eventer Garry Roque, moving up the level of eventing and competing at the North American Young Riders Championships. She then attended college at York University, earning an honors degree in International Relations and Philosophy, along with a master's in Human Rights. Still, though, the horses kept their hold.
Lesley spent some time working at Kingridge Stables and Mill Creek Stables, then made her way to the US to work with Bruce Davidson. In the early 2000s, she made it to the Advanced level with her Thoroughbred, Timber Spirit, whom she ultimately competed twice at the Rolex Kentucky CCI5*. Lesley has been short- or long-listed to the Canadian team numerous times since, with multiple horses.
After meeting Leslie at the 2005 Kentucky CCI5*, the couple married and started Law Eventing, now based out of Ocala, Florida. Together, they continue to run their very successful training and coaching business, competing through the top levels of the sport.
