Natural Horsemanship fans are no stranger to the incredible Kathy Baar, but did you know she’s also a USDF Gold Medalist, Author, and Horse Development Specialist? We’re thrilled to have her as part of our Ride iQ coach lineup!

A lifelong horse lover and equestrian, Kathy spent 11 years studying natural horsemanship under Linda and Pat Parelli. Part of the original faculty at the Parelli Center, she has dedicated her career to melding natural horsemanship principles to the competition world. By using these principles of equine psychology, she helps horse owners and riders communicate effectively and form strong bonds that extend well beyond the competition arena.

Alongside her husband John, Kathy founded and built Raising The Baar Horsemanship Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Their vision was to foster an atmosphere that is as productive for the learner as it is for the horses, an ideology that makes Kathy’s passion for teaching particularly evident. She loves helping others find the joy that originally drew them to horses by overcoming whatever obstacles might be standing in their way.

When she isn't busy helping people and horses, Kathy enjoys eventing, dressage, and spending time enjoying nature with her family. Having Kathy on board at Ride iQ helps us all become better riders and horsemen by increasing our understanding of our equine athletes and how their brains work!
